About Amy

I have always had a passion for good food and its ability to lift our mood, support health and nourish us. I was brought up a vegetarian and therefore needing to know how to cook was very important. Over the years I have been both a meat eater and a vegan. This has given me insight into many different aspects of nutrition and taught me that there is no one perfect diet, everyone has very different individual needs.

After the birth of my middle child I took a much deeper interest into the effects of nutritional therapy. He suffered with breathing difficulties after birth and asthma as a toddler, with regular trips and admissions to hospital during the winter months. I was told he would need daily steroid medication, which he reacted badly too. Having used various forms of holistic medicine throughout my life I started to research nutritional approaches and this led to me removing both gluten and dairy from his diet, which had a tremendous positive effect on his overall health. With continued research and the use of various supplements he has not needed to take any steroids and has not been admitted back to hospital since. Having experienced the effects the correct nutrition has had on my own digestive and respiratory health and on the overall health of my children, I decided to expand my knowledge further and train as a nutritional therapist.  I completed training with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, where the focus is to look in-depth at both disease progression and prevention. Training incorporates both the naturopathic principals and the functional medicine model, which is an individualised, patient-centred, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness.

I have a special interest in women’s health and well-being, however naturopathic nutrition can also benefit many other conditions and individuals such as:

  • Weight loss

  • Diabetes type 1 & 2

  • Mens health

  • Hormonal imbalance

  • Lowered immunity

  • Digestive health

  • Cardiovascular conditions

  • Depression & anxiety

  • Thyroid health

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Allergies and respiratory conditions

This is by no means an exhaustive list, please get in touch to discuss your individual needs.

I am registered and regulated by The Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP) and a member of The General Naturopathic Council (GNC). I undertake regular CPD courses to ensure my knowledge is up to date and I have continued to study with CNM in London to complete their naturopathy qualification.
